Fête de la musique 2023

Bonjour !

Straight line

Hymne à la courbe

When I was a kid on the haystack my uncle said,
Go to school, learn, and come back again,
In his deep tone I could feel a warning was present
Though I didn’t know then what he meant

When I was a teen the village businessman told me
Your future lays in the new city
You go to school, study well and you will work with me
Become rich and you will be happy

There was a time when…
I walked straight and no one would say,
In the curves of a tree I would lay
Easy with the roughness of the ground,
dancing with the dust whirling round and round

Bending my body with the wind,
at dusk watching moon and sun weaving
What did happen then in that hour,
When the teacher handed me a ruler

Later on driving my pick-up car to the city
The first thing I noticed that struck me
Were the roads’ straight white and yellow
On black painted marks
For fuzzy people to keep on track

Once there timeline was straight
whether summer or winter
The sun’s course had no affair with us
Like everything around our lot, and well-keeping masks
The unbending twirling of day tasks

There was a time when…
I walked straight and no one would say,
In the curves of a tree I would lay
Easy with the roughness of the ground,
dancing with the dust whirling round and round

Watch now my life is a straight line,
clumsily I waver alongside,
fearing I would tumble off limit,
hoping not to see the end of it

Looking to the way where the sun should be
I said “Gather the moon I’m coming again”
I picked up my pick-up car and set away into the land
I drove on no stop until…
I drove on no stop until…
I drove on no stop till
I was back on the haystack, my old uncle with me
Uncle now I know what you meant

Now there’s a time when…
I walk straight and no one would say
With the curves of my life I make a play
Easy with the roughness, at each round
Dancing with the dust heaving from the ground

I walk straight and no one would say,
In the curves of a tree I now lay
Easy with the roughness of the ground,
dancing with the dust whirling round and round

Nothing (Tic Tac)

J’ai entrepris d’écrire sur quelqu’un « qui ne fait rien », ça a donné ça :

After all night I’ve done nothing
At the time when the rooster’s crowing
I throw myself in a deep slumber

When I get up in the morning
I put on my yesterday’s clothing
And I set myself up to get dumber

As my feet land on the flooring
Be lazy is all I feel like doing
It’s again a day I won’t remember

And the minutes click on (tic tac)
And the hours hang on (tic tac)
Around the world moves on
Eventually a voice says “Come on !”

Oh yeah it’s time to get ready
I need to meet up with my party
Let’s talk about this wonderful day

You got first round I’ll get the second
Because beer we drink all along
It’s so good to meet with you today

You got fifth round I’ll get the sixth
We’re not close to getting sick
‘Cause you’re my friends of every single day

And the minutes click on (tic tac)
And the hours hang on (tic tac)
Around the world moves on
Eventually a voice says “Come on !”

(repeat round the clock)

Burning out

Quand on ne cherche pas l’amour et qu’on rencontre le burn-out…parfois les idées se créent parce qu’on les écrit, seulement après on leur trouve un sens

When I got hit, by your words
I stayed stuck like I was anchored
I could neither breathe, nor blink
My heart did not know whether to freeze or sprint

Then you took me by the hand
It felt there would, never be a time to land
I got so high, I lost my ground
All I could feel was the fluffiness of this surrounding cloud

And I wonder, how you caught up with me
And I wonder, how you caught up with me

‘Cause I
Was rushing so fast nobody ever saw me
My gaze would not rest so long as I was wide awake
I dreaded so much I would miss I would never slow for a bliss
If I had turned around there would have been no burning out
And I wonder

I followed you, no consciousness
My life had quit having me as a mistress
You hung around, you gave me time
For me to get familiar with this new set of mind

And I wonder, how you caught up with me
And I, wonder, how you caught up with me

‘Cause I
Was rushing so fast nobody ever saw me
My gaze would not rest so long as I was wide awake
I dreaded so much I would miss I would never slow for a bliss
If I had turned around there would have been no burning out
And I wonder

How did you find me
I never noticed you were running after me
How did you find me
Maybe I got it wrong you were with me all along

And no wonder, that I caught up with you

‘Cause I
Was rushing so fast nobody ever saw me
My gaze would not rest so long as I was wide awake.
I dreaded so much I would miss I would never slow for a bliss
If I had turned around there would have been no burning out

On the quest for freedom

En quoi la quête de liberté est-elle emprisonnante ? Vous avez 3 min

I remember out of the womb, I cried for it
I got freedom to breath, but that was not enough,
So I dedicated my years, to struggle to get more
Relentlessly I gathered pieces,
I did what we all did before
And I’m not free, to take a different route

I met an angel and she, looked like freedom
She seemed to have the keys, to all the outer worlds
So I clung on to her, like a creeper on a rock
She turned her back to me,
A barrier rose
And once again I am left behind

When I’m in contemplation, the world is mine
The moment I reach for it, shackles squeeze me tight
Remember this feeling, you can summon it when you’re down
It’s all in your head, ’cause it’s nowhere else to be found

I hear them claiming it as if, it was a right
A right that never existed, as far as you look back
A subtle fantasy, that keeps us, all going
They don’t want us to pause
Because what if we found it
Oh fear, do not leave me behind

When I’m in contemplation, the world is mine
The moment I reach for it, shackles squeeze me tight
Remember this feeling, you can summon it when you’re down
It’s all in your self, ’cause it’s nowhere else to be found

I want to get rid of all that constraint around
Did they say fulfillment dwells in vacuity
I look for the way in, so I can feel I’m out
And the more I search, closer is the blackout
I try to sing and get booed for it
I try to run and get fined for it
Stop moving that’s how you will get it
Stop talking that’s how you will keep it
Stop thinking that’s how you will reach it
